Tweedsmuir Community Company

Jura Consultants led a strategic planning exercise for the Tweedsmuir Community Company (TCC) in relation to the Crook Inn. The Crook, first licensed in 1604, has been a site of community focus and a resource for travellers for over 400 years. Now community owned but in a deteriorating condition, the report provided an assessment of the most appropriate next steps to realise the long term vision to return the Crook and its surrounding buildings and landscape into a sustainable resource. The overarching aim was to celebrate the cultural and environmental heritage of the area, building skills and resilience with a range of activities and uses to ensure it is once again valued and contributing positively to the local and wider community. The report made recommendations for the short and medium term as the most appropriate ways to revitalise a site of heritage and community significance.
